Map It. Move It. Master It.

Make confident decisions in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Step into the adventure with our action-packed Orienteering Challenge, a favourite for youth groups and secondary school camps at Shannon River Adventure.

Armed with maps, clues, and teamwork, participants navigate through checkpoints, solve route challenges, and race against the clock — all while developing leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

It’s an exciting blend of strategy and outdoor exploration that keeps everyone engaged from start to finish.

Designed as part of our camp programmes, orienteering encourages students to think on their feet, trust their teammates, and make confident decisions in a dynamic outdoor setting. Whether competing in teams or tackling timed challenges, this high-energy activity builds resilience, independence, and a real sense of achievement — all while having serious fun in the great outdoors.

Brought a group of 9 young people for a half day of activities and we had the best time ever. We had a chance to try rock climbing, kayaking, mudsliding and archery. The instructor had games for each of the activities which made things even more fun and they had spare shoes and towels for the ones that forgot them. Lovely staff and great facilities, would definitely recommend!

Had a brilliant morning here with 3 adults and 3 kids aged 5,7 and 11. We were picked up from our cruiser and did the kayak, mud slide and pier jump. Kids absolutely loved it and our instructor Paul went out of his way to make it really good fun. He even did a short archery session to fill up our time. Would highly recommend to anyone with kids.

We stayed for glamping for few nights. The tent is spacious and enough supplies for basic needs. Bed was comfortable and clean. There are few lights inside the tent. You can borrow a BBQ from them if you want. Plenty of grass in front of our tent for he kids to play. There is a fridge, toaster and kettle you can use in the kitchen. The toilet and shower always spotless. The onsite activities are brilliant. Our kids did one day camp, they want to come back next year and sign up for more days. The water for the shower can be a bit cold, but it is camping after all. You can't expect the luxury of runner hot water. We are hoping return next summer.

Brought kids for one day of the summer camp, great to be able to do a one day option when not living locally to it. All very well organised and well run, the kids had a great time. The mudslide was a massive hit, not something you get with many other water/river adventure places in our experience.
