Whether it’s part of a Transition Year programme, fulfilment of the adventure section of An Gaisce, class-bonding experience, or an end of year class tour, we have something to suit all requirements at Primary and Secondary level.
Located on the banks of Lough Bofin on the River Shannon, we have been accommodating school adventure tours and activity trips for many years. Our full day multi-activity trips for Primary and Secondary level are renowned and our activity and camping trip is perfect for TY and Gaisce groups.
All activities are led by experienced instructors, all of whom have Level 3 First-Aid, Child Protection, and Garda Clearance. All activities are fully insured.
The centre itself is a modern facility with toilets, changing rooms complete with showers, covered large outdoor seating area, and well equipped kitchen with facilities for teachers to make refreshments.

Secondary Schools
Experience the thrill, adventure, fun and achievement of outdoor team activities
Get soaked from head to toe. Get covered in mud. Tie yourself in knots. Sound like fun? It sure is! Feel the thrill of leaping off a pier. Or compete with your classmates in Tug-o-War. Or face the challenge of the Fun Assault Course. Or have a great laugh on the slippery, slidey mud slope. Whatever you’re down for, we’re up for showing you a good time!

GAISCE
Gaisce has become synonymous with schools over the last 20 years.
Many schools have students working towards Bronze, Silver and Gold. Here, at Shannon River Adventure, we can help with your physical Recreation and Adventure journey requirements, be it a two-day/one night expedition for the Bronze award, or a three-day/two night adventure for the Silver. For the Gold Award, please enquire within.
